Yamaha is proud of its alumni accomplishments as Tobun Peter Canisius, Ahmad Jayadi, Roy Ardianto, Hendriansyah until the era of Doni Tata Pradita a successful rise to the world stage by penetrating the GP 125cc and 250cc GP.
Indonesian rider Doni Tata is the first performer in the grand prix motor racing. In 2005-2006, the drivers from Sleman was featured in the 125cc class and the next two years he tested the 250cc class.
But Yamaha is not satisfied until there. Yamaha racer wants to bring Indonesia to a higher event again within the next few years.
"In 2014, the target we want to bring the entry in the MotoGP riders," said Ari Wibisono, Yamaha Motorsport Manager Indonesia at a press conference ahead of the YCR 2011 series at the Circuit Kanjuruhan Malang, Friday (09/12/2011).
In 2011, YCR 14 rounds held throughout Indonesia with the beginning of Makassar, then continues to Navan, Medan, Padang, Kediri, Bali, Lombok, Lampung, Bangka, Jambi, Bengkulu, Cirebon and ending with the grand final series in Malang.
Ultimate series will be held at the Circuit Kanjuruhan, Sunday (11/12/2011). A total of seven classes diperlombakan, namely Duck 125 cc 4 seeded No Tune Up, Duck 110 cc 4 No Tune Up seeded, 125 cc 4 No Starter Tune Up, Duck Duck 110 cc and 110cc standard <16 years old beginner. The two additional classes for local racers of East Java is a 130 cc standard Matic Tune Up Duck beginner and novice standard 110 cc showroom.
The results of the grand final will not only fight a number of prizes and championship titles. But also race tickets to a level higher at the Yamaha Asean Cup Race in Thailand early next year.
A total of 10 best riders will be filtered, with each of the five riders seeded and five novice riders.
"Ten people will be brought to the Foreign Affairs to Phuket, Thailand, if not in January, February next year. They consist of five riders seeded and five novice riders," said Ari.
