Talks to End Lockout Held Next Week

New York - For the first time since the lockout period is set, the NBA and the player representatives will meet to conduct negotiations and talks. The event was held next week. Both parties want any NBA National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) is not met since June 30 last, the date at which time the agreement had expired collective agreement. The absence of a new agreement makes the NBA decided to enactment of a lockout period July 1, 2011.


Until now, the lockout continues. A number of players has been and is considering an offer to play at clubs outside the United States. Reporting from the NBA's official website on Thursday (07/28/2011) morning local time, the NBA and the NBPA will meet to discuss the new agreement next week. There is no certainty about the date, but the meeting is likely to be held next Monday.

The meeting was scheduled to be attended by important figures such as NBA commissioner David Stern, deputy commissioner Adam Silver BA, NBPA director Billy Hunter, and a number of representatives of NBA players.

There was SBNation media reported that the bargaining session in which each party submitted its bid, will be held on the first two weeks of August. Lockout never happened in the seasons 1995/1996 and 1998/1999. In 1995, the problem can be resolved in September, which create a number of regular games could walk normally that is 82.

While in the 1998/1999 season, new problems can be finished in early January 1999. Be delayed and new competition could begin in February and the regular game to 50.
